The Mettler Release
Celebrate the Season at Mettler

We are excited to announce the addition of a Registered Dietitian to team. Michaela Kruse comes with nine years experience and we anticipate she will be a valuable asset to our multi-disciplinary approach!

Additionally, we are moving to a new software which will allow the convenience of online account management, registration for classes/programs, appointment scheduling, and more! Of course, these services will be still be available in person or by phone.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition. We are confident these changes will provide our customers with the very best experience.

Getting to Know Our Registered Dietitian

Michaela Kruse joins the Mettler Center team as the new Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist and begins seeing clients on December 7th. Born and raised a Hoosier, Michaela spent the last three years as the manager of the clinical nutrition department at a hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan while her husband, Adam, attended graduate school.

They moved to Champaign-Urbana in the fall for Adam to start a job as a professor at the University of Illinois. Now the family, including 2-year-old daughter, Gloria, and dog, Ace, is eager to settle into C-U and enjoy a winter free from lake-effect snow!

Michaela brings with her nearly a decade of experience as a Registered Dietitian. She has provided inpatient and outpatient nutrition counseling at hospitals in Indianapolis, Indiana and Grand Rapids, Michigan with an emphasis on weight management and chronic disease prevention.

In addition to a dietetics degree from Ball State University, Michaela utilizes her Master's Degree in Adult and Community Education from the same school to help teach the community the benefits of healthy eating.

In her free time, Michaela enjoys organic gardening, finding and cooking new recipes (and of course eating the delicious new foods!), and attending and performing in community theatres. She has already appeared on a local stage playing the part of the vivacious Meg in Parkland College's recent production of the raucous farce "Leading Ladies."

Michaela is excited to get involved in the C-U community through her role at the Mettler Center. Please introduce yourself when you see her and welcome her to the Mettler Center and C-U. Being new to the area, she loves to get restaurant recommendations from fellow food lovers!
