With Halloween over and Thanksgiving fast approaching, we know how hard it can be to maintain your dedication to Whole Life Fitness.

That's why we're offering unique and fun classes to help you get a jump before the holiday season. We're also giving you great reasons to check out Tai Chi and yoga this month. Both have been proven to improve both your fitness and reduce stress levels.

If you need a competition to keep you motivated to take care of yourself, try joining our Holiday Blitz Competition. And, be sure to keep friends and family members who might be visiting from out of town in the fitness loop with our "Home for the Holiday" punch card.

Mettler Adds Mind-Body Classes
Mettler Adds Mind-Body Classes   
Recently, the Mettler Center has added more mind-body classes - including yoga, Pilates and tai chi. 

But many don't understand the benefit of these classes. That's why we're offering "Understanding Tai Chi," on November 12th. You'll learn the benefits of tai chi from one of our expert teachers and learn about the improvements you can make through guided practice. Coming in December, Yoga Fundamentals and Hot Yoga will also be offered. Stay tuned for more details.

Tai chi contributes to your health in many ways. It helps you: 
  • Build muscle strength. Both men and women will work their lower and upper body to build strength. You'll also build your core and back muscles.
  • Gain flexibility. Women usually build their upper- and lower-body flexibility as well as strength.
  • Improve balance. Tai chi improves balance and, according to some studies, reduces falls.
  • Increase aerobic conditioning. Depending on the speed and size of the movements, tai chi can provide some aerobic benefits.

Yoga contributes to your health in the following ways:

  • Stress reduction. With its quiet, precise movements, yoga draws your focus away from your day and calms you as you move your body through poses that require balance and concentration. 
  • Increased fitness. As you learn new poses, you may enjoy improved balance, flexibility, range of motion and strength. You'll be less likely to injure yourself in other activities, too.   
  • Management of chronic conditions. Yoga might help with conditions like cancer, depression, pain, anxiety, and insomnia. It fights sleep problems, fatigue, and mood. Yoga also can help reduce heart rate and blood pressure.   
  • Weight loss. If you're overweight, yoga may help you make the lifestyle changes necessary to drop those extra pounds.

Home for the Holiday Punch Cards
Be sure to grab our "Home for the Holidays" punch card.

This card, for members only, allows members to purchase a punch card so that family or friends who are visiting during the holidays can take classes at the Mettler Center or use the facility.

Each 10-punch card is $50. They can be used from November 19th through January 14th. The go on sale November 1st.

Thanksgiving Hours 

To allow our staff time to be with their families and friends this Thanksgiving, we will close at 8pm on Wednesday, November 21. 


The last regular class will be held at 12:10. However, we will have two special evening classes. (See below.)


We'll be closed Thanksgiving Day, but will reopen Friday, November 23rd at 7am. The first class will be Strength Coach at 8:10am.

Two Classes on
Thanksgiving Eve

We are having two special classes on November 21st, the night before Thanksgiving.

The first is a cycle class held from 5:30-6:30pm in Studio A. The other, a yoga class, will be held from 6:40-7:30pm. 


Each class will be great ways to kick-off the holiday season!

Try Our Holiday Blitz Competition
Try Our Holiday Blitz Competition 

Holidays can often hinder your health and fitness plans, which is why we created the Holiday Blitz Competition.


For six weeks, teams of four will stay accountable through the holidays by spending no more than 150 minutes per day at Mettler in solo workouts, participating in group classes, or personal training.


Each team will pay $20 to enter the competition to compete from November 12th through December 14th. Non-members may participate by buying a $55 Holiday Blitz Pass.


At the end of the competition, the team with the most minutes exercising will win the pot along with a match from the Mettler Center.
