The Mettler Release
Spring Into Fitness at Mettler

Spring is in the air and we are ready for a fresh start in how we look at Private Yoga & Pilates lessons, which were added to our offerings last year. It may surprise you all the different types of individuals that may benefit from this form of training. Learn more in the article below.

Additionally, we are excited to announce Nikki Marini PT, DPT as our most recent hire to our Physical Therapy department. In addition to physical therapy, Nikki has a background in both massage therapy and Pilates, giving her an keen knowledge of the human body and physical movement. She will make an excellent addition to the Physical Therapy team, and you might even see her instructing a Pilates class!

Who Benefits from Private Yoga or Pilates
Who Benefits from Private Yoga or Pilates?
While private yoga and Pilates sessions are great for beginners, it is not limited to just those new to the practice. Private yoga or Pilates is a fantastic way to learn, improve, or explore new possibilities--no matter where you're at.

If you are new to yoga or Pilates all the more reason to get one-on-one coaching so that technique, form, and alignment are on point and you reap all the benefits the movements provide.

Goal-Oriented Individuals
Whether goals are mental, or physical; an instructor can tailor a specific practice for you.

Common goals could be, but are not limited to:
  • Starting an exercise routine
  • Flexibility
  • Mindfulness
  • Strengthening
  • Rehabilitation
  • Stress relief
Focusing on your personal interest, concerns, or goals is our top priority.

Maybe you already do yoga or Pilates, but want to take your practice to the next level? Private lessons can both challenge you and increase your knowledge of either discipline.

Yoga and Pilates are not for everyone, but many times people who refrain from activities may need them the most and possibly have not found the right fit for them.

For example, maybe you want to work on flexibility, but haven't found a group exercise class that you can really get excited about? Or, you tried Pilates at one time, but didn't care for the instructor.

If you tend to have high expectations for how you spend your time and money, doing one-on-one lessons may be your answer.

You choose who you work with and your goals/expectation become our agenda and measurement for success. Sounds like a good deal; if you're up for giving it a try!

Thank you to all those who volunteered at the Sheehan Smoke Alarm Blitz. Because of the many volunteers who turned out for the event, we had a very successful event.

Over 125 volunteers plus City staff installed 210 smoke alarms in south Champaign in memory of Christian Sheehan. The Sheehans along with the City of Champaign hope to make this an annual event.
