I hope you are excited for 2016 as we are! A new year brings the opportunity to start fresh and maybe try something you haven't done before.

To make the most of your time at Mettler, we're offering complimentary consultations on many our services (i.e Nutrition, Personal Training, Private Yoga, Group Exercise, and Physical Therapy). If you have questions or are wondering if a particular program is right for you, we encourage you set up an easy 30-minute consultation where you can explore your options. As you will see from the success story below, utilizing the support of health professionals can be a real "game changer."

Q&A with Angela Kamradt
What brought you to Mettler?
In May of 2012 I graduated from grad school and I knew I would have the time to go to the gym. Additionally, my dad and father-in-law were already working out here and getting great results, so I felt it was a win-win.
What was your turning point when you made the decision to go all-in?
Before, when I exercised, I felt like I was just going through the motions. I wanted this time to be different. I was going to do this for me! Most importantly, when I started working with my personal trainer, Emily, it definitely took me to the next level.
What is your current schedule?
I do Fusion Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and then take Cycling at 5:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I love the classes-they are great because you just show up! I also really enjoy the people and they help keep me motivated.
How has your body and fitness level changed over the last few years?
I can truly say I'm in the best shape of my life. But, I remember when running a quarter mile loop around our subdivision felt impossible. However, this past year, I ran the Illinois Half Marathon, and I can't wait to do it again this year with an even faster time!
How have you stayed motivated and committed?
I had to find what worked for me. I was not afraid to switch things up to see if it made a difference. Also, seeing results is the best motivation!
Do you have any weight loss or fitness secrets you are willing to share?
I love MyFitnessPal app. It helps hold me accountable. Consistency has been key; I always make time for exercise. I'm at Mettler at least six days a week, usually Monday through Friday and then either Saturday or Sunday, depending on my schedule that week.
What advice would you give to someone who doesn't know where to start?
Get a personal trainer and work with a Registered Dietitian. The extra support and accountability created a foundation that I later learned to maintain on my own.

New Tai Chi Session
Tai Chi is a gentle, mind-body exercise system excellent for
developing and maintaining balance, flexibility, coordination, and concentration.

Tai Chi is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm. The next session will begin January 19th.
Yoga Sessions TBA
Stay tuned for new winter sessions of both Warm Candle-Lite Yoga and Hot Yoga to be announced in January.
Massage Workshop
With Valentine's Day just around the corner, it's not too early to be thinking about making special plans. This year, we will hold a Partner Yoga & Thai Massage Workshop. Stay tuned for details.
Welcome Jasmine
& Ashley!
We have a new physical therapist! Jasmine Evans, DPT has joined the Mettler Therapy team and is now seeing new patients.

Massage therapist, Ashley Gaytan will begin seeing clients January 16 for evening and weekend hours. Ashley's techniques include relaxation, deep tissue, hot stone, and prenatal massage.
Final Weigh-In
For those participating in our Hold It for the Holidays contest, a final weigh-in must be completed to remain eligible to win. If you haven't already, please stop by the member service desk to record your final weight between January 3-9.
