Telehealth is an excellent virtual tool that most insurances are approving during this time. We strive to make the experience as simple and stress-free as possible. You can even do complimentary consults via telehealth.

Using a video-based platform such as Zoom, Facetime, Skype, etc. for free consults and ongoing treatment.

Please contact us to get started!

Delivering health-services with technology, often with a video-based meeting such as Zoom.

Does insurance cover it?
During this time, most major insurance companies are covering this service. We are happy to confirm your insurance coverage for this service based on your individual insurance plan.

If your particular insurance is United Health Care Medicare Advantage, you are 100% covered for 30-minute sessions.

Is it complicated to use?
Our goal is to make the experience simple and stress-free. We will handle all logistics and plan to talk you through what to expect.

Each insurance provider offers different coverage. We accept most insurance carriers, including:

Don’t see your insurance plan? Try to give your insurance company a call to see if they offer reimbursments. We can provide receipts for you.

You do not need insurance for the free consultation. Mettler Center also accepts cash-based patients.

Do I need a doctor's referral?

You do not need a doctor’s referral for a consultation.

More Information About Direct Access

  1. A referral is not needed.
In Illinois, legislation was passed in 2018 allowing patients to be evaluated and treated by a licensed physical therapist without a referral.
  2. We communicate for you.
Mettler Center physical therapy communicates with your medical provider to update them on your plan of care and to collaborate for the best care possible.
  3. Get a referral faster.
Many insurance companies still require a referral for payment. At Mettler Center, we have a system in place that satisfies the insurance requirement and minimizes unnecessary steps to get approval.
  4. Skip a referral and pay cash.
Cash paying patients do not need a referral nor do they have to worry about insurance approval.
How long will I need Physical Therapy?

The length of your physical therapy treatment is determined by a number of factors such as your diagnosis and what you are seeking help for.

Schedule a free one-on-one session to talk with a physical therapist to talk through your options.

Do you take workers' compensation?

Mettler Center will be happy to take on any cases approved by the Workers’ Compensation carrier.
