Physical Therapy

We help you return to living and back to doing what you love.

Mettler Physical Therapy

When you come to Mettler Center for physical therapy, you are treated by a licensed physical therapist and not with assistants or aids.

We make every effort for you to see the same therapist every time, because a relation that’s built on trust, confidence, and competence will help you get better, faster.

Choosing Physical Therapy

Look for these important aspects when choosing physical therapy services.

One-on-One Care

Centered on you, and not among multiple patients

Hands-on Approach

Manual therapy treatments and direct interaction

Licensed Therapists

Treatment by state-licensed physical therapists

Diversity of Care

Access to rehab fitness, personal training, and massage.

Continuity of Care

Educating You

Improving your life rather than returning to it.

F.A.Q.

Take action, reach out, and let’s talk.

The first step toward recovery is to schedule an appointment with us.

How do I know if I need physical therapy?

If you’re not sure, come see us for a free consultation. Physical therapy is something to consider if you are:

  • in pain
  • seeking to prevent surgery
  • looking for an alternative to pain pills
  • and more
Do I need a doctor's referral?

With Direct Access, you do not need a doctor’s referral for a consultation.

How do I pay for physical therapy?

When you provide a check as payment, you authorize us either to use the information from your check to make a one-time electronic funds transfer from your bank account or to process the payment as a check transaction.

We also offer secure online payment.

Will my insurance cover physical therapy?

Each insurance provider offers different coverage. We accept most insurance carriers, including:

  • Health Alliance (University of Illinois faculty/staff insurance option)
  • UnitedHealthcare (University of Illinois student insurance)
  • BlueCross/BlueShield PPO
  • HealthLink
  • Medicare Part B
  • Community Partners Health Plan
  • Web TPA
  • Certain Health Alliance HMOs (including the State of Illinois HMO option and the City of Champaign’s HMO)
  • Certain Principal PPO plans
  • Certain Humana Plans
  • and many others.

While we won’t necessarily belong to the same network as your primary care provider, we will happily handle all insurance billing matters for you.

Patients are responsible for knowing your policy details the coverage your policy offers, and what remainder (if any) you’re expect to pay. For questions about your specific insurance coverage, please contact us at 217-398-9800 or your insurance company directly.

You do not need insurance for the free consultation. Mettler Center also accepts cash-based patients.

Do you take workers' compensation?

Mettler Center will be happy to take on any cases approved by the Workers’ Compensation carrier.
