Dear Mettler Center Clients, Patients, Guests, and Family:

Mettler Center has been a part of Champaign-Urbana for over 30 years.  It has been an honor and privilege to have served this community and helped so many lives through our physical therapy and various wellness services.  Our mission has always been to transform the lives of the people we serve.

The year 2020 has presented unique challenges to everyone all over the world.  Everyone at Mettler has been dedicated to helping the organization stay strong during this time. I will always be grateful. While I have looked to the future in the last few years and wanted to gradually transition out of ownership of Mettler Center, I have always wanted the unique physical therapy model that I started and my therapists have continued, to be paramount in any decision.

I was approached earlier this summer by a past acquaintance who introduced me to the Ivy Rehab model.  Ivy Rehab started around 2003, mostly on the east coast, and is now expanding into the Midwest.  I have explored and researched and through months of talks with Ivy Rehab, both sides have agreed that Mettler would be a good fit for their organization.

While I had hoped that the area of massage and personal training could also be part of the acquisition, it has been determined that the focus be exclusively on physical therapy, and they would not be able to provide the resources for those other entities. After much deliberation, I have decided that, for the future and growth of the physical therapy department, it will be the right choice.

I am extremely grateful to all the loyal clients that have used our personal training and massage services over the years. Mettler’s personal training and massage therapy services will terminate on Dec. 4, 2020. Physical therapy will continue to thrive in this partnership with Ivy Rehab and will continue to provide excellent service.  This was not an easy decision but one that I feel is the right one for the future of Mettler Physical Therapy.

Thank you,

Paul Mettler
