Class Descriptions

Core Yoga Challenge yourself with a blend of breath-coordinated yoga postures and Pilates-based exercises that focus on strengthening the body’s core region. Smooth transition between poses are emphasized.

Yoga Fundamentals Learn about yoga’s background, benefits, styles, and how to chose a class. Explore the fundamentals of breath, postures, alignment, and movement to begin a safe and healthy practice.

Eating Mindfully “Must I be a vegetarian to eat like a yogi?” Join this stimulating roundtable discussion of this and other questions as we examine the integration of yogic principles to our relationship with food.

Organic: Is it for You? What does “organic” mean? Do you need to buy organic foods? Is it worth the cost? Learn the facts about organic food products from Robin Allen, Mettler’s Registered Dietitian.

Yoga for the Good Life Explore the eight limbs of yoga as a way to a healthy and fulfilling life. We will discuss and “practice” some of these pillars including ethical principles, movement, breath, and meditation.

Walking Yoga Enjoy the Fall weather and beautiful lakes surrounding Mettler on a group walk integrating standing asanas (poses) and visualization. Dress appropriately for weather.

Flex & Flow Yoga Sweat a little and challenge yourself in this strength-based yoga class that builds heat, muscle tone, and flexibility through repetitive flows and long holds, using breath-synchronized movement.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga Move fluidly through an invigorating series of Vinyasa postures. Certain poses will be held longer to allow your body to gradually open to create flexibility and strength.

The Language of Yoga Explore the “common” language of yoga as we uncover the meaning of common Sanskrit terms. Learn and understand the traditional names and deepen your yoga practice.

The Art of Self-Massage Learn the benefits of massage and expand your practice of self-care as licensed massage therapist, Jami Taylor, guides you through a sequence of health-promoting seated massage techniques.

Kids Yoga Inspire your kiddos through a fun combination of kid-tested poses. By teaching, learning and doing, your child will benefit from yoga in all the ways adults do. All ages welcome; 8 and under accompanied by an adult.

Meditation/Journaling Take time to pause, reflect, and release through contemplative meditation and/or writing. Both practices create a space of discovery, if done with the intention of focusing the mind.

Gentle Yoga Calm your body and mind with traditional postures in a slow, relaxing format. Class emphasizes flexibility, poise, body alignment, and balance with modifications for a wide range of abilities.

Hot Yoga Practiced in a hot studio of 95 degrees, this flow-style yoga amplifies yoga’s usual benefits including deeper stretches and injury prevention while reducing stress and tension. Don't forget your water!
