| Use Competition To Lose Weight |
Losing weight is easier when you're working with others
that's a friend who meets you at the gym or a trainer who encourages
you. As shows like "The Biggest Loser" have caught on, we've seen how
much friendly competition contributes to weight loss. That's why we're
proud to announce Mettler's Weight Loss Challenge, which begins January
18th.In this 10-week program,
you'll shed pounds safely using a comprehensive diet and exercise plan.
Our personal trainers and Registered Dietitian will help you shed
pounds and meet your weight loss goals.
Mettler Athletic and
Mettler Center will each field a team for the challenge. Teams will
work out in group settings twice a week under a personal
trainer's watchful eye. There will be a weekly group fitness class, too.
Don't worry, though. You'll get plenty of individualized
attention. Each participant will have an activity goal that they will
strive to reach when he or she is not working out with the team.
Additionally, each person will have one-on-one meetings with our
registered dietitian to discuss how to modify eating habits.
Non-members can participate and receive a complimentary fitness membership while enrolled in the program.
Participants compete for weekly prizes and the title of "Weight Loss Challenge Winner."

Mettler Athletic has always focused on helping athletes move to the next level. That's why we're proud to offer two athlete-only classes this month.

|Shopping Without Dropping!
The holidays may be over, but that doesn't mean that you're done shopping.
Our physical therapists want to keep you safe when you're on the go, so remember to:
1. Distribute the weight of shopping bags (and heavy purses) equally on both sides of your body.
2. Dump everything out of your purse you don't need.
3. Wear comfortable shoes. Carrying packages while wearing high heels can contribute to foot and ankle injuries.
4. Consider a shopping cart to prevent falls on icy pavements.
5. Avoid prime shopping times to keep the amount of time you're carrying heavy items down.
